Taverham Youth Club still open – Virtually

Dear Reader,
We hope you are adjusting to the Autumn/Winter air and wetter weather! Maybe you have planned some cozy nights in, as the nights draw in earlier. If not – why not come and join us for some fun, games and often laughter.

The management committee has fully risk assessed the possibility of opening but with regulations changing on a weekly basis we don’t think this is viable option at present and wish to offer some sort of consistency during this period so have decided to continue with the Online Youth Clubs, at least until the New Year.

If you (or someone you know) is in school years 5,6,7 or 8 then why not join our fun and games. We are open to new membership.

Dear Parent/Carer and member/s

We are writing to you to let you know about the new service/s that our members will be able to access while their usual youth club is closed because of COVID-19.

We realise that having youth work support is still important in these uncertain times, and so we want our members to be able to access their youth worker. This can happen in the following ways:

  • Online group sessions/Youth clubs through ‘Zoom’. Your youth worker will contact you with how and when these will be available. It is free to access and will be private to our group. We need to make sure that our members are safe when they go online, so we have included our Online Youth Work policy for your information.
  • Phone / video call support – Our member may want to have a private chat with the youth worker. This is still possible, and so you/they can make an appointment – the phone number and email details are above. We will also call you every so often, to see how you are getting on.
  • Activities – we want our members to have fun things to do, and so we can send you Links to; crafts, quizzes, information, and ideas of things to do while at home. We can also make sure that you have access to positive wellbeing and mindfulness activities to ensure that you look after yourself.
  • Resources – If our member finds that they need items/equipment to complete school/college work and are restricted by finance, transport or for other reasons please let us know. We may be able to help.
  • Special Online Youth club nights – Occasionally we will have themed sessions on either; Arts & Craft, Topics, Areas/Places or Cooking. Most of the items needed to participate in the activities will be sent to you/our member via post prior to the session, with instructions.

All participation is voluntary and does not have to happen every session/week. Once you have completed the Online consent form, the youth worker will let you know the dates and times of forthcoming Youth clubs. We would ask that you email the Youth worker to request an invite for the date/s they would like to attend. You will then receive an email of confirmation and invitation. Please do not share the invitation information with anyone other than our member.

Feel free to contact Kerry if you have any questions or concerns regarding our Online youth club or just need any other general support.

We look forward to keeping in contact with you.
Kind regards, Taverham Youth Work Team
