Preparing Christmas packs to our members and staff

We hope you enjoyed the Christmas period and are looking forward to the New Year ahead.

During November we enjoyed a Guy Fawkes Themed night with mask making, quiz and spot the difference. We also have played Countdown, Scatagories, Pictionary, Movie theme tune music quiz, various spot the difference and played an ongoing quiz set by a member.

We have also had a second young member of staff join our team during this Virtual period.

In addition to this we have been busy this month preparing the Christmas packs for our members and staff, to be delivered FOC to their door. For members in the bag there was a gift pack with bouncy ball, punch balloon, hat, sweets, pen, eraser, Christmas Tea bag and a card.

A make your own Christmas cracker, bauble and card kits, scratch art sheets and pipe cleaners for our future game of Pictionary with a twist! We also included a Chocolate advent calendar just to ensure they had a small,
sweet treat each day in the lead up to Christmas. For our fantastic staff we swapped the calendars for a tin of chocolates to show our appreciation of their support during this unusual and testing year.

The nights are now long and often boring, particularly for young people faced with the regular choice of; get on with the homework or have a quick game on the console.

Well now they have a different option!

If you know someone in school years 5, 6, 7 or 8 (the last 2 years of Junior and first 2 years of High school) let them know what we are doing. We are open to new and existing members, once they have signed up, they can attend as often as they choose, once a week, term time only. Membership is free, attendance is free .

We use the ZOOM app and meet on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 7:30 to 8:30pm.

Your new Virtual Youth Services are funded by the Parish Council, who have not forgotten their young residents during this time of uncertain change.
