Merry Christmas from the Taverham Youth Centre

Dear Readers,

HELLO – We would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy 2022 😊 We are pleased to be able to inform you all that the Taverham Youth Clubs are now fully re-open in the building.

Although the clubs in the building had been closed for the last 18 months your Parish Council continued to provide youth services for our younger members of the community. Initially during the first lockdown, welfare checks were made to our members and their family. We then opened Online Youth club/s via Zoom for many months, delivering games, Quizzes, scavenger hunts, art activities and wellbeing parcels. Young people were hand delivered activity packs which contained various items for construction, decoration and gift making with the intention to increase their positive mental health. This was predominantly funded by a grant from Broadland District council. We would like to take the opportunity to thank them for their financial support during this testing time. In the summer we opened for meetings on the field with arts & craft, general socializing opportunity and team games with free fruit. On the last week of term, we arranged for the local Ice Cream man to visit, and we treated all the members to a 99 Ice cream.

Since being fully open from September we have enjoyed an increase in membership but are no longer able to except any new members on a Thursday Junior club until further notice. Once we have increased the staff team, we will be able to welcome new members again. We will keep you informed of our progress. Our young members are enjoying the opportunity to socialize in a safe friendly environment.

Opening times: Tuesday 7:00 – 9:00pm for years 8-11, Wednesday & Thursday 6:30 – 8:30pm for years 5-8.

If you would like any further information about the youth club/s please contact Kerry on 07887 950002 or email at
